Phil started working for Rare directly after graduating from University in 1996 and worked there until leaving to setup Nyamyam. He began work as a software engineer on Diddy Kong Racing (Nintendo 64), before taking on the lead engineer duties for his following projects Starfox Adventures (GameCube) and Kameo (Xbox 360). Phil’s skillset spans the spectrum from engine programming to gameplay programming. Gameplay eventually became his specialty, which resulted in him taking on a new company-wide position as Director of Gameplay for Rare in 2009. His first title following that was Kinect Sports for Microsoft’s Kinect.
